Terms of sale

1. SCOPE

These Terms of Sale (“Terms”) govern all purchases made through store.middlethings.co (the “Store”) operated by Middle Things (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

These Terms apply to both professional (B2B) and consumer (B2C) customers.
If you do not agree, please do not place an order.


2. PRODUCTS

We design and sell electronic accessories for professional A/V production, including but not limited to:

  • Camera and gimbal control accessories

  • Optical Fiber devices and accessories

  • Related integration hardware

  • Related control software

All product descriptions, specifications, and images are provided for general information only and may be updated without notice.


3. PRICING

  • All prices displayed on the Store are exclusive of taxes (VAT, sales tax, import duties).

  • Applicable taxes will be calculated at checkout depending on your billing/shipping location.

  • Import duties, customs clearance, and related fees (if applicable) are the customer’s responsibility.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time prior to accepting your order.


4. ORDERS

4.1 ORDERS ACCEPTANCE

Your order is an offer to buy. We may accept or reject any order at our discretion.

You will receive an email confirmation upon order placement. This confirmation does not constitute acceptance. Acceptance occurs only when the order is shipped.

4.2 ORDER INFORMATION

You are responsible for ensuring all order information (address, email, invoice details) is correct. We are not liable for delays or losses due to incorrect information.

4.3 ORDER CANCELLATION

Once an order has been placed and payment is received, we do not guarantee that it can be modified or cancelled. Orders may enter processing immediately, including preparation, customization, or allocation of stock. Any request to cancel an order must be sent as soon as possible to orders@middlethings.co

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate cancellation requests, but we reserve the right to refuse cancellation if the order has already been processed or shipped. If cancellation is not possible, the order will be handled in accordance with our Returns & Refunds policy.


5. SHIPPING

5.1 DESTINATIONS

We ship worldwide except to restricted or embargoed countries. If your destination cannot be served, we will notify you and cancel/refund your order.

5.2 SHIPPING TIMES

Shipping times are estimates only and may vary due to customs processes, carrier delays, or circumstances beyond our control.

5.3 RISK OF LOSS

Ownership and risk of loss transfer to you once the package is delivered to the carrier.


6. RETURNS & REFUNDS

Middle Things offers a 30-day return policy, starting from the day you receive your item.

6.1 NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

Optical Fiber products are excluded from the 30-day return policy and are not returnable.

Other non-returnable items include:

  • Custom or personalized products

  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases

  • Items marked as final sale (i.e activated digital products & software) 

  • Gift cards

6.2 DIGITAL PRODUCTS

Software products, license keys, and any digital content delivered electronically (download link, activation code, or remote license activation) are subject to specific conditions:

Free Trial. To allow customers to evaluate our software before purchase, we offer a 30-day free trial on all our software products. Customers are strongly encouraged to test the software during this trial period to ensure it meets their technical requirements and expectations before placing a paid order.

No Refund After Activation. Once a software license has been delivered and/or activated, the sale is considered final. Activated software products are non-refundable and non-returnable, regardless of use, for any reason including but not limited to incompatibility, change of mind, or unused licenses.

Waiver of the 14-Day Withdrawal Right (Consumers / EU). In accordance with Article L221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code (and equivalent provisions of EU Directive 2011/83/EU), the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium where performance has begun.

By placing an order for a software product or digital license, the customer:

  • Expressly requests immediate access to, delivery, or activation of the software;
  • Acknowledges that performance of the contract begins immediately upon delivery of the license key or activation of the software;
  • Expressly waives their 14-day right of withdrawal;
  • Confirms that they have had the opportunity to evaluate the software through the 30-day free trial prior to purchase.


6.3 ELIGIBILITY

To qualify for a return:

  • Item must be unused, in original condition and packaging

  • All accessories, tags, manuals must be included

  • Proof of purchase is required

Returns sent without prior authorization will be refused.

6.4 HOW TO START A RETURN

Email us at orders@middlethings.co to request a return authorization.
If approved, we will send:

  • A return shipping label

  • Instructions for sending your item

6.5 DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS

Inspect your order immediately upon delivery.
If your product is defective, damaged, or incorrect, email us at orders@middlethings.co within a reasonable time so we can resolve the issue.

6.6 EXCHANGES

We do not process direct exchanges.
You may:

  1. Return the item (if eligible),

  2. Place a new order for the desired product.

6.7 REFUNDS

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of approval or rejection.

If approved:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • Refund amount = full order amount minus return shipping fees and any import taxes/duties we have paid on your behalf

  • Processing time may vary depending on your bank or card provider


7. WARRANTY

Unless otherwise stated, our products are covered by a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover misuse, modification, improper installation, or normal wear and tear.


8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Middle Things is not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages.

  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

Professional users (integrators, broadcasters, production companies) acknowledge that products must be installed and operated by qualified personnel.


9. COMPLIANCE & EXPORT CONTROL

You agree to comply with all applicable export laws and regulations. Our products may not be resold or shipped to embargoed or restricted countries.


10. GOVERNING LAWS

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of France unless mandatory consumer protection laws specify otherwise.


11. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes apply only to orders placed after the updated Terms are posted.
